Guangxi Sugar Mills Crushing Progress: Two More Large Mills Conclude, Total Crushing Mills Significantly Down Year-on-Year

According to the latest statistics from Fantang Technology, as of March 19th, two additional large sugar mills in the Guangxi region, each boasting a daily crushing capacity exceeding 10,000 tons, have successfully concluded their sugarcane crushing operations for the current season. This brings the total number of mills that have finished crushing for the 2025/26 crushing season to 19. Notably, compared to the same period last year, there has been a significant decrease of 49 mills that have completed crushing. From a capacity perspective, the combined daily sugarcane crushing capacity of the mills that have finished operations currently stands at 191,000 tons, representing a year-on-year reduction of 377,000 tons per day. Among the mills that have concluded crushing, large-scale facilities with a daily capacity over 10,000 tons account for nearly half. Geographically, the mills that have completed their crushing season are predominantly located in the southern Guangxi region, with some also found in areas like Laibin. In contrast, the crushing progress in northern Guangxi remains relatively slow. Industry insights suggest that due to an unexpectedly higher sugarcane yield this season, an estimated two to three sugar mills will need to extend their crushing operations until early May to fully complete their work.
