Guangtang Group Accelerates Spring Planting: Significant Progress in New and Ratoon Sugarcane Cultivation

As of March 24, 2024, the group has achieved significant progress in sugarcane cultivation: the planting area for new sugarcane has reached 420,000 mu, and the breaking and loosening of ratoon sugarcane roots have been completed across 243,000 mu. In terms of variety selection, Guangtang Group adheres to a technology-driven approach, vigorously promoting high-yield, high-sugar sugarcane varieties such as Guitang No. 44 and Guitang No. 76, thereby solidifying the foundation for increased production. To comprehensively enhance planting efficiency and productivity, the group actively implements six key technologies: 'improved variety cultivation, early planting and management, deep plowing and loosening, mulching, integrated pest management, and full mechanization.' These measures not only continuously improve the overall mechanization level of sugarcane cultivation, management, and harvesting, effectively reducing production costs, but also significantly alleviate the labor intensity for sugarcane farmers, thereby vigorously promoting agricultural output growth and increased farmer incomes. Notably, Guangtang Group has innovatively applied the Beidou satellite navigation system to its mechanized planting operations, achieving precise furrowing and standardized planting. The application of this technology further improves sugarcane growth conditions, enhancing light absorption efficiency, drought and waterlogging resistance, and lodging resistance, making technology a 'hard support' for increased sugarcane production.
