Jalles Appoints Marcos Jank to its Board of Directors

Brazilian sugar and ethanol giant Jalles announced the election of renowned agribusiness expert Marcos Jank to its Board of Directors, with a term beginning April 1, 2026. Jank brings extensive experience from the sugar-energy sector, having previously served as president of Unica and currently holding a senior professorship at Insper. The company also appointed Oscar de Paula Bernardes Neto as an independent member of its Statutory Audit Committee, further strengthening its corporate governance.

Brazilian sugar and ethanol company Jalles announced on Wednesday (25th) that it has elected Marcos Jank as a member of its Board of Directors, with his term set to begin on April 1, 2026. The market announcement was signed by Rodrigo Penna de Siqueira, Jalles' Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations Director. The statement confirmed that Mr. Jank meets the independence requirements stipulated by applicable regulations. Marcos Jank possesses a profound background and extensive experience within the sugar-energy sector. He currently serves as a board member for Colombo Agroindústria, a position he assumed in April 2025. Prior to this, Jank held the presidency of the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (Unica). Presently, he is a senior professor of agribusiness at Insper and coordinates the Insper Agro Global center. In addition to Marcos Jank's appointment, Jalles also announced the election of Oscar de Paula Bernardes Neto as a member of the Statutory Audit Committee, where he will serve as an independent director. Bernardes Neto brings a wealth of experience from his involvement on the boards of numerous prominent companies, including Gerdau, Suzano, Marcopolo, Praxair, Localiza, and Dasa. He also previously served as a senior partner at Booz Allen & Hamilton and as CEO of Bunge International. Jalles stated that with these elections, the company's respective bodies will be reconstituted and strengthened in accordance with applicable regulations.
