Inpasa Announces Bahia Plant to Begin Operations in April

Inpasa has recently announced that its new corn ethanol plant, located in Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Bahia, is expected to commence operations in April of this year. This facility will mark the company's sixth industrial unit in Brazil, signifying a further expansion of its presence in the country's market. Designed with an annual corn processing capacity of 1 million tons, the plant is projected to produce 470 million liters of ethanol per year. In a statement, Inpasa highlighted that the new industrial unit will “reinforce the company's presence in a strategic agribusiness region, expand renewable energy production capacity, and directly contribute to job creation and regional development.” Furthermore, Inpasa advocated in its statement for an increased blend of ethanol in gasoline, asserting that this measure would “enhance the competitiveness of renewable fuel, reduce emissions, and maximize the utilization of national production.” The company emphasized that despite ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and concerns about fossil fuel shortages in other parts of the world, “the sector continues to operate normally, without changes in price or availability.” Inpasa added, “Biofuel is not a circumstantial response but the result of a model built over decades, which today guarantees predictability to the market and protects consumers.”
