Guangxi's 2025/26 Crushing Season Update: Nearly 40% of Mills Conclude Operations, Chongzuo Leads Progress
As of March 27th, 28 sugar mills in Guangxi have concluded their crushing operations for the 2025/26 season, marking nearly 40% completion overall. Chongzuo region shows faster progress with 11 mills already finished. The combined daily crushing capacity of these concluded mills is 264,500 tons, a decrease compared to the previous year. Northern Guangxi regions are progressing slower, with some mills expected to finish in early April.
According to the latest statistics from HiSugar Tech, Guangxi's sugar mill crushing operations for the 2025/26 season have made significant progress as of March 27th. By March 26th, with an additional mill in the Chongzuo region concluding its operations, a total of 28 sugar mills across the province have ceased production. This indicates that the overall crushing progress for the current season is nearing 40% completion.
From a capacity perspective, the combined daily sugarcane crushing capacity of these completed mills stands at 264,500 tons. Notably, this figure represents a decrease of 322,500 tons in daily crushing capacity compared to the same period last year, suggesting potential adjustments in production structure or raw material supply for this season.
Geographically, the Chongzuo region has demonstrated higher efficiency in this crushing cycle, with 11 mills already concluded and only 3 remaining operational. In contrast, northern Guangxi regions, including Laibin, Liuzhou, and Guigang, are experiencing slower progress. It is anticipated that mills in these areas will require more time, with some expected to complete their production tasks for the season sequentially until early April.
