Inpasa's sixth production unit, located in Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Bahia, has received authorization from Brazil's National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to commence operations. With a daily capacity of 1.5 million liters each of hydrous and anhydrous ethanol, the plant is set to meet its April launch target. Inpasa plans to invest R$7 billion this year in new units and expansions.

Inpasa's sixth production unit, situated in Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Bahia, has officially received authorization to begin operations. The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) published the approval in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Thursday, the 26th, allowing the company to proceed with its previously announced plan to start operations in April. According to the ANP document, the new facility boasts a daily production capacity of up to 1.5 million liters of hydrous ethanol and an equivalent volume of anhydrous ethanol. The authorization also stipulates that Inpasa must submit a definitive operating license, issued by the competent environmental agency, before the expiration of the preliminary operating license it presented. Failure to meet this requirement by August 30th will result in the plant losing its authorization. The announcement for this latest corn ethanol production plant was made in September 2024, with an estimated investment of R$1.2 billion. It is designed to process 1 million tons of grain annually. Renato Teixeira, the company's communication and marketing director, stated in February that Inpasa intends to invest an additional R$7 billion this year in new units and expansions. Collectively, Inpasa's operational units have a potential daily production capacity of 18.5 million liters of hydrous ethanol and 17 million liters of anhydrous ethanol. Furthermore, ANP data indicates that the group has two more units currently under construction, one in Rio Verde, Goiás, and another in Rondonópolis.
