Yunnan Nansan Port's Sugarcane Imports Exceed 200,000 Tons for First Time in Five Years, Cross-Border Sugar Industry Achieves New Leap

Nansan Customs, under the jurisdiction of Kunming Customs, has played a pivotal role in this process. By implementing a combination of 'smart supervision + precise services,' they have ensured the rapid clearance of imported sugarcane, allowing it to be promptly delivered to the crushing production lines. They have also implemented a series of facilitative measures, including 'appointment-based clearance, priority inspection, and inspection upon arrival.' These initiatives ensure that sugarcane transport vehicles are quickly inspected and released, allowing overseas sugarcane to reach the production lines for crushing within the optimal 48-hour window, thereby effectively reducing sugar loss and operational costs for enterprises. Furthermore, Nansan Customs has deepened its 'one enterprise, one policy' service model, proactively engaging with enterprises regarding their import plans and tailoring customs clearance solutions. According to the latest data, during the crushing season from December 2025 to March 2026, sugarcane imports at Nansan Port reached 200,000 tons, marking the first time this volume has been surpassed in five years, representing a substantial year-on-year increase of 46.03%. The average daily import volume was approximately 2,205.56 tons, with a single-day peak exceeding 2,830 tons, demonstrating a significant improvement in clearance efficiency.
