Guangxi's 2025/26 Sugar Production Data: 7.4072 Million Tons Produced, Sales Ratio at 41.38%

By the end of March 2025/26 crushing season, Guangxi produced a total of 7.4072 million tons of mixed sugar, a significant year-on-year increase. However, the sugar yield rate slightly decreased to 12.60%. Cumulative sugar sales reached 3.0652 million tons, with the sales ratio dropping to 41.38%. Industrial inventory saw a substantial year-on-year rise, indicating potential market pressure from increased stock levels.

As of March 31st, 2025/26 crushing season, sugar production in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has largely concluded. Latest statistics indicate that 39 sugar mills across the region have completed their crushing operations, a decrease of 34 mills compared to the same period last year, suggesting potential industry consolidation or improved production efficiency. This season, the total sugarcane crushed reached 58.7874 million tons, a significant year-on-year increase of 10.2126 million tons. Benefiting from the increased sugarcane supply, mixed sugar production also rose, with a cumulative output of 7.4072 million tons, an increase of 0.9464 million tons year-on-year. However, it is noteworthy that the sugar yield rate for this season was 12.60%, a decrease of 0.7 percentage points year-on-year. This could be attributed to variations in sugarcane quality or minor adjustments in processing techniques. In terms of sales, by the end of March, cumulative sugar sales in Guangxi totaled 3.0652 million tons, a decrease of 0.4128 million tons year-on-year. Consequently, the sales-to-production ratio dropped by 12.45 percentage points to 41.38%, indicating a relatively slower sales pace. Looking specifically at March's monthly data, sugar production for the month was 1.7559 million tons, a substantial increase of 1.4622 million tons year-on-year. Sales in March reached 1.0729 million tons, up by 0.4782 million tons year-on-year. By the end of March, industrial inventory stood at 4.342 million tons, an increase of 1.3592 million tons year-on-year, highlighting considerable inventory pressure.
