Guangxi 2024/25 Crushing Season Update: Over 70% of Sugar Mills Cease Operations, Estimated Sugar Output at 7.7-7.8 Million Tons

According to the latest statistics, as of April 10th, the sugarcane crushing operations for Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's 2024/25 season have made significant progress. On this day, an additional sugar mill in the Liuzhou region concluded its crushing, bringing the total number of mills that have ceased operations across the region to 52. This signifies that over 70% of Guangxi's sugar mills have completed their production for the current season. In terms of capacity distribution, the mills that have finished crushing have a combined daily sugarcane processing capacity of 462,000 tons, while the remaining operational mills have a daily capacity of 138,500 tons. These active mills are primarily located in areas such as Nanning, Liuzhou, and Guigang, and are expected to conclude their operations in a concentrated manner by mid-to-late April. Based on the current crushing progress and industry analysis, Guangxi's final sugar output for this crushing season is projected to be between 7.7 million and 7.8 million tons.
