Brazil's National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has officially approved R$575.3 million in financing for ALD Bioenergia. Headquartered in Nova Marilândia, Mato Grosso, ALD Bioenergia will allocate these funds primarily to expand its corn ethanol industrial plant. According to Valor Econômico, this expansion aims to triple the company's production capacity by 2028.
Details of the project reveal that the financial contribution is structured into two main components: R$359.5 million will come from the Enterprise Financing (Finem) program and the Climate Fund, while the remaining R$215.8 million is allocated from the BNDES Machinery and Services credit line, specifically for the acquisition of essential equipment.
In an interview with Valor Econômico, Marco Orozimbo, CEO of ALD Bioenergia, stated that the company plans to utilize this capital to increase its corn processing capacity from 335,000 tons annually to 900,000 tons within the same timeframe. This significant boost is projected to raise annual ethanol production from 150 million liters to 400 million liters. Furthermore, corn oil production is expected to climb from 6,000 tons per year to 18,000 tons annually. Concurrently, the manufacturing of soluble dried distillers grains (DDGS) is set to increase substantially, from 80,000 tons per year to 230,000 tons, as reported. Orozimbo emphasized, “ALD Bioenergia was founded seven years ago with a clear plan for productive capacity expansion. Our partners are producers who have always seen strong potential in the corn ethanol market.”
