Ethanol/CEPEA: Indicators Fall Over 7% in São Paulo
According to CEPEA data, both hydrous and anhydrous ethanol prices experienced significant declines in the São Paulo spot market last week. The hydrous ethanol indicator fell by 7.01% to R$2.5920/liter, while the anhydrous ethanol indicator dropped by 7.43% to R$2.9575/liter, marking its first dip below R$3/liter since August last year.
The University of São Paulo research center reports that, according to CEPEA data, prices for both hydrous and anhydrous ethanol saw a notable decline in the São Paulo spot market last week.
Between April 13 and 17, the CEPEA/ESALQ indicator for hydrous ethanol, net of ICMS and PIS/Cofins taxes, closed at R$2.5920 per liter, representing a 7.01% decrease compared to the previous period.
For anhydrous ethanol, the CEPEA/ESALQ indicator, net of PIS/Cofins taxes, was R$2.9575 per liter, a reduction of 7.43% over the same comparison period. This marks the first time since August 1 of last year that the fuel's price has fallen below R$3.00 per liter.
CEPEA researchers noted that, despite the prevailing market pressure, the pace of transactions showed a slight improvement, although volumes remained restricted.
