Liangqing Dongtang Sugar Co. Completes Full Sugarcane Payment, Fortifies Pest and Disease Control
Nanning Liangqing Dongtang Sugar Co. has successfully completed 100% payment of sugarcane funds and transportation fees for the current crushing season, safeguarding farmers' income. Concurrently, the company is intensifying sugarcane field management, focusing on monitoring and controlling thrips and rust disease to ensure stable yields and increased income. Amid hot and humid weather, farmers are urged to implement early detection, prevention, and control measures to protect sugarcane health and achieve a sweet harvest.
Nanning Liangqing Dongtang Sugar Co. recently announced the successful completion of 100% full payment for all sugarcane funds and transportation fees for the current crushing season. This initiative aims to genuinely safeguard the hard-earned income of sugarcane farmers and ensure the stability and development of sugarcane production areas. The company urges all sugarcane farmers to inform each other and promptly check their account for payment receipts.
Concurrently, the company is focusing its efforts on sugarcane field management, particularly strengthening the monitoring, early warning, and integrated control of thrips and rust disease. Currently, sugarcane is in a critical growth stage, from seedling to tillering. Hot and humid weather conditions are highly conducive to the concentrated outbreak of thrips and rust, which directly threaten the normal growth and yield accumulation of sugarcane. Therefore, Liangqing Dongtang Sugar Co.'s agricultural team specifically reminds farmers to prioritize "early monitoring, early prevention, and early control" to firmly establish the first line of defense against pests and diseases.
Regarding the damage and control of thrips, the company points out that thrips primarily gather in the heart leaves of sugarcane, sucking sap, which leads to leaf curling, chlorosis, and desiccation, eventually forming characteristic 'cow tail' shapes that severely inhibit sugarcane growth. Effective control measures include: firstly, thoroughly clearing weeds in the fields to reduce the pest source base; secondly, applying insecticides such as thiamethoxam, imidacloprid, or acetamiprid, spraying directly onto the heart leaves in the early morning or evening. It is recommended to apply twice with an interval of 5-7 days to ensure thorough coverage.
For the damage and control of rust disease, the company emphasizes that sugarcane rust is a fungal disease characterized by orange-yellow spore pustules appearing on the leaves. In severe cases, it can cause leaves to yellow and fall off, significantly weakening photosynthesis and affecting the healthy growth of sugarcane plants. Control strategies include: rational close planting to maintain good ventilation and light penetration in the fields, thereby reducing humidity; at the initial stage of the disease, fungicides such as difenoconazole, azoxystrobin, tebuconazole, or chlorothalonil can be used. These can be combined with nutritional components and growth-promoting agents like monopotassium phosphate and brassinolide, sprayed evenly on both sides of the leaves. Depending on the disease progression, 1-2 consecutive applications may be necessary to effectively control the spread and promote the recovery of normal sugarcane growth.
Liangqing Dongtang Sugar Co. pledges to continuously strengthen its services, improve field management, rigorously prevent pests and diseases, and ensure a bountiful sugarcane harvest. The company will organize professional personnel to visit sugarcane regions for guidance, promote unified control measures, and fully guarantee farmers' income, fostering the healthy development of the sugarcane industry in the region to collectively realize a 'sweet dream'.
