### Guangxi's 2024/25 Crushing Season Nears End: Only 5 Mills Remain, Operating Durations Generally Extended As the 2024/25 crushing season draws to a close, sugar mills in Guangxi are rapidly concluding their operations. According to the latest incomplete statistics from Pan-Sugar Technology, as of April 22nd, an additional sugar mill in the Guigang region completed its crushing season. This brings the total number of mills that have finished production in Guangxi to 68 for the current season, with their combined daily cane crushing capacity reaching 573,000 tons. Currently, only five sugar mills across Guangxi remain operational. These include three in the Nanning region, and one each in the Liuzhou and Guigang regions. The combined daily cane crushing capacity of these remaining five mills is 24,000 tons, indicating very limited remaining production capacity. It is anticipated that, with the exception of one mill in the Guigang area which might operate until early May, all other remaining mills are expected to conclude their crushing operations by the end of this month. Notably, an analysis of the operating durations for this crushing season reveals a significant trend: among the 68 mills that have already finished, 36 experienced an extension in their operating time by 1 to 20 days compared to the previous year. Furthermore, 31 mills saw their operating durations extended by more than 20 days. Only one mill experienced a slight reduction in operating time. This suggests that cane supply was generally abundant this season, allowing mills to enjoy longer production cycles.
