Thailand, a pivotal player in the global sugar market, reported a significant surge in sugar exports during the fourth quarter of 2025. Data released by the Thai Cane and Sugar Corporation (TCSC) indicates a 12% increase in export volumes compared to the same period last year, reaching approximately 2.8 million metric tons. This strong performance stems from an excellent cane harvest for the 2025/26 crushing season, which benefited from timely rainfall and optimal temperatures across the nation's primary sugar-producing regions. Industry experts emphasize that Thailand's consistent supply has been crucial for stabilizing global markets amidst uncertainties from other major producers. "Thailand's reliable output and efficient logistics have established it as a preferred supplier for numerous importing nations, particularly in Asia," commented Dr. Somsak Panyathorn, a senior analyst at Bangkok Agri-Commodities.
