Gambero Rosso, Italy's esteemed food and wine guide, has announced the return of its Top Italian Wines Roadshow to Bangkok in 2026, following a highly successful 2025 edition. This event marks the final stop on its global tour, designed to showcase a curated selection of Italy's finest wines to food and beverage professionals and wine specialists. The Bangkok leg is once again organized in collaboration with the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce, reinforcing their enduring partnership. The global roadshow has already engaged thousands of buyers and industry experts across eight emerging markets, spanning from Mexico to Australia, and the US to Nigeria. Bangkok serves as the concluding destination for this worldwide circuit, having previously made stops in cities like Las Vegas, Chicago, Mexico City, Lagos, Nairobi, Sydney, and Bali. In 2026, Gambero Rosso plans to host 26 events across 19 countries on five continents, underscoring the significant international presence of Italian wine, extending its reach beyond traditional markets into new and emerging territories. This highly anticipated event draws more than just wine specialists and enthusiasts. Gambero Rosso's international gatherings traditionally also provide an occasion to recognize the best Italian restaurants in the host countries. Consequently, the event offers both a crucial platform for promoting Italian wines and an opportunity to assess the current state of Italian cuisine, which enjoys immense popularity in Thailand, with over 1,800 establishments serving it. Gambero Rosso, as Italy's foremost guide for wine and food connoisseurs, employs a well-respected evaluation system. For wines, the process is straightforward: ratings range from one to three glasses, with the prestigious Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses) being the highest accolade, awarded to only one wine from each winery annually. For the 2026 edition, over 25,000 wines from more than 1,200 wineries were tasted, with approximately 500 ultimately receiving the coveted Tre Bicchieri. The assessment of restaurants, however, involves a more nuanced and complex methodology.
