Beishan Town in Yizhou, Guangxi, has completed its 2026 sugarcane field measurement and verification, ensuring accurate distribution of agricultural subsidies and strengthening its characteristic sugarcane industry. As a traditional sugar-producing area, the town boasts 47,300 mu of sugarcane cultivation this year, involving over 3,000 farming households. Utilizing GPS-enabled measurement tools, all areas have been surveyed, with over 5 million yuan in subsidies anticipated for sugarcane farmers, significantly contributing to rural industrial revitalization.

As sugarcane enters its critical growth period, Beishan Town in Yizhou, Guangxi, has fully initiated its 2026 field measurement and verification efforts for whole-stalk sugarcane. This initiative aims to ensure the precise and full distribution of agricultural subsidies through accurate on-site measurements, thereby strengthening the foundation of sugarcane as a characteristic industry that enriches local residents. Beishan Town, a traditional sugar-producing area, has long relied on the sugarcane industry as its 'sweet事业' (sweet endeavor) for economic development. Sugarcane cultivation now spans all nine villages (communities) in the town, with a total planting area reaching 47,300 mu this year. To date, newly planted sugarcane covers 12,400 mu, benefiting over 3,000 farming households. The newly expanded planting area totals 2,667 mu, comprising 1,522 mu of sugarcane top cuttings and 1,145 mu of whole-stalk sugarcane seedlings. Additionally, replanted sugarcane after stubble removal covers 9,750 mu, with 3,349 mu from top cuttings and 6,401 mu from whole-stalk seedlings. During the on-site measurement of whole-stalk sugarcane, staff meticulously divided areas by village and surveyed each plot. They utilized GPS-enabled area measurement devices integrated with the Boqing Farm Management APP system to register plot areas directly, ensuring the authenticity and traceability of planting data. These measurements strictly adhere to subsidy standards: healthy seedlings receive 330 yuan per mu, while virus-free seedlings receive 600 yuan per mu. After verification, subsidies will be directly disbursed to farmers' bank accounts. As of now, Beishan Town has completed all sugarcane field measurements, with an estimated over 5 million yuan in agricultural subsidies expected to be distributed to sugarcane farmers. Wei Linyong, a sugarcane farmer from Pochuan Village, happily remarked, 'The on-site measurements are precise and efficient, and the subsidies are paid in full. The agricultural support policies are getting better and better!' A representative from the Beishan Town People's Government emphasized, 'We will simultaneously conduct policy promotion and ledger archiving. Based on this measurement data, we will optimize the promotion of improved sugarcane varieties and continue to expand and strengthen this sweet industry, contributing to rural industrial revitalization through effective agricultural benefits.'
