China Sugar Market Analysis: Guangxi Spot Prices Edge Up Amid Stable Trading
On July 6th, the Chinese sugar market showed stability. Guangxi's mainstream spot white sugar price slightly increased to 5262 yuan/ton, with improved inquiry interest from traders. However, downstream demand remained moderate due to a slow start to summer consumption. Yunnan prices held steady, while refined sugar prices saw minor adjustments.
On July 6, 2026, China's domestic sugar market generally maintained a stable trend, with minor price fluctuations in certain regions. Today, the mainstream spot transaction price for white sugar in Guangxi reached 5262 yuan/ton, a slight increase of 19 yuan/ton compared to the previous trading day. Although spot market activity remained lukewarm and futures prices stabilized with fluctuations, traders showed increased interest in inquiries. However, due to the relatively slow start of summer consumption, downstream end-users demonstrated limited willingness to stock up, resulting in moderate overall transaction volumes.
Specifically, quotes from major sugar groups in Guangxi remained relatively stable: Guangtang Group's Grade 1 white sugar was quoted between 5290 and 5330 yuan/ton, Nanhua Sugar's Grade 1 sugar ranged from 5260 to 5310 yuan/ton, Dongtang Group's Grade 1 sugar was quoted at 5290 to 5350 yuan/ton, and Fengtang Group's Grade 1 sugar was between 5330 and 5360 yuan/ton. All these quotes were unchanged from the previous day. Xiangui Group's Grade 1 sugar was quoted in the range of 5240 to 5350 yuan/ton, with some prices seeing a reduction of 10 yuan/ton.
In the Yunnan market, sugar quotes remained unchanged: Nanhua's Kunming area was quoted at 5080 yuan/ton, while Xiangyun and Dali areas were at 5040 yuan/ton. Yingmao's Kunming area quote was 5120 yuan/ton, and Dali area was 5080 yuan/ton, both consistent with the prior day.
For refined sugar, the mainstream quotation range was between 5580 and 5850 yuan/ton, with a few refined sugar products experiencing a 20 yuan/ton reduction. Overall, the market is awaiting clearer consumption signals, and is expected to maintain a volatile consolidation pattern in the short term.
