CEPEA Beans Report: High-Quality Carioca Bean Prices Remain Firm

According to CEPEA researchers, the market for high-quality Carioca beans saw limited supply at the start of July, leading to sustained prices, despite the commencement of harvesting in irrigated areas of the Cerrado. Meanwhile, prices for intermediate-quality Carioca beans and black beans are experiencing heterogeneous adjustments across regions, reflecting differences in availability and lot quality.

According to the latest analysis from the University of São Paulo's research center (CEPEA), the market for high-quality Carioca beans has maintained firm prices as July began. Despite the commencement of harvesting in irrigated areas of Brazil's Cerrado region, initial volumes are still limited, preventing a significant increase in market supply. Consequently, CEPEA researchers indicate that prices for high-quality Carioca beans have remained stable due to this restricted supply. For intermediate-quality Carioca beans and black beans, the market shows heterogeneous adjustments across different regions. This disparity primarily stems from significant variations in supply volumes and lot quality between areas. In the fields, the harvest of the second Carioca bean crop in Paraná is nearing its final stages, while irrigated areas in Goiás and other regions are just beginning to offer new supplies, suggesting potential shifts in market supply dynamics in the near future.
