2026 Key Sugar-Using Enterprises (Groups) Symposium Successfully Held in Shanghai
The China Sugar Association successfully hosted the 2026 Key Sugar-Using Enterprises (Groups) Symposium in Shanghai on March 6th. Over 70 representatives from major sugar-producing regions, sugar manufacturers, raw sugar processors, and sugar distributors attended. Experts delivered keynote speeches on national sugar production and sales, global supply dynamics, domestic market trends, and consumption changes in the beverage and confectionery sectors. The symposium aimed to foster communication and cooperation between producers and users, addressing new industry challenges and promoting mutual development, with CSA Chairman Yan Weimin emphasizing the importance of deepening collaboration.
The 2026 Key Sugar-Using Enterprises (Groups) Symposium successfully concluded in Shanghai on March 6th. Hosted by the China Sugar Association (CSA), the event gathered over 70 key representatives from local associations in major sugar-producing provinces, leading sugar-using enterprises, sugar manufacturers, raw sugar processing groups, and sugar distribution companies. The symposium, chaired by Bai Zhe, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Sugar Association, aimed to foster enhanced communication and cooperation within the industry.
During the conference, several industry experts delivered insightful presentations. Zhong Jinchuan, Vice Chairman of the China Sugar Association, provided an overview of the national sugar production and sales landscape and current market conditions. Following this, Liu Daqi, a trader from Louis Dreyfus Sugar Department, offered a specialized report on the global sugar supply structure. Zhang Xinmeng, a senior white sugar analyst at COFCO Sugar, analyzed the operational characteristics of the domestic sugar market during the 2025/26 crushing season, summarizing current conditions and forecasting future trends. Furthermore, Zhang Peng, Industry Research Director at Mashangying, delved into the evolving consumer demand and market development trends for beverage and confectionery categories in 2025, providing valuable market insights to the attendees.
In the subsequent discussion session, sugar producers, trading companies, and sugar-using enterprises engaged in thorough exchanges regarding procurement needs and other critical topics, laying a solid foundation for future collaborations. In his concluding remarks, Yan Weimin, Chairman of the China Sugar Association, emphasized that in the face of new developments and changes in the industry, both producers and consumers must strengthen confidence, deepen communication, and foster cooperation to achieve long-term, mutually beneficial development. He also stated that the China Sugar Association would continue to advance its 'Four Services' initiative to provide stronger support for the stable and healthy growth of the industry. Wei Bing, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Sugar Association, also attended the meeting. The successful conclusion of this symposium marks a significant step forward for all industry stakeholders in addressing challenges and collaboratively pursuing development.
