BOI/CEPEA: Beef Exports Mark Best February in History
According to data from the CEPEA research center at the University of São Paulo, Brazil's beef exports achieved a historic high in February 2026. The month saw 235,889 tons of beef shipped, a 23.9% increase from the previous year, with a significant rise in daily average exports. China remains the primary destination, accounting for nearly half of all exported Brazilian beef, underscoring its strong competitiveness in the global market.
The CEPEA research center at the University of São Paulo reports that beef exports continue to be the decisive factor in sustaining domestic prices for live cattle in Brazil. Export volumes have consistently set records for years, and the beginning of 2026 is no exception, highlighting the strong competitiveness of Brazilian beef in the global market. According to data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), in February 2026, within just 18 working days, Brazil shipped 235,889 tons of fresh beef, marking a 23.9% increase compared to February 2025.
This export volume represents the best February in history. The daily average export in February reached 13,105 tons, which is 37.6% higher than the average recorded a year prior. China remains the primary destination for Brazilian beef, receiving almost half of all exported protein. These figures further solidify Brazil's leading position in global beef trade and indicate continued strong performance in the export market.
