CITRUS/CEPEA: Shipments to EU Decline Again in February

The University of São Paulo's research center (CEPEA) reported that Brazil's orange juice exports to the European Union experienced another slowdown in February 2026. This performance disappointed expectations for a continued recovery in commodity shipments to the bloc, following a positive rebound in January. For the 2025/26 harvest season (July 2025 to February 2026), total concentrated orange juice shipments to the EU amounted to 250,200 tons, which is 55,700 tons less than during the same period of the previous season. Specifically for February, Brazil exported only 24,500 tons to the EU, a significant drop from 49,800 tons in January, according to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Comex Stat/MDIC). CEPEA researchers point out that while orange juice shipments to the United States remain robust, European demand still needs to advance to boost the overall flow of the current season's production. Domestically, the distribution of orange juice also faces certain challenges.
