Petrobras CEO Chambriard Assures No Gasoline Price Changes Expected in Coming Days
Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard announced that the company's refineries are operating near 97% capacity to meet Brazilian market demand amid rising international oil prices. She stated that Petrobras is not considering gasoline price adjustments in the coming days and has postponed scheduled maintenance to maintain high production levels.
Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard announced to journalists on Friday that the company's refineries are operating at nearly 97% capacity. This high operational level is part of an effort to boost production and meet the demands of the Brazilian market amidst rising international oil prices.
To maintain high output, Petrobras has opted to postpone scheduled maintenance shutdowns at some of its refineries. For instance, the maintenance for Replan, the company's largest refinery located in Paulínia, has been deferred from May to 2027. Similarly, the maintenance for the Repar refinery in Paraná has been moved from April to mid-year, as executives stated during a press conference.
This increase in refining output is poised to support a market that also relies on imports, especially given that the company's fuel prices currently lag behind international values. Chambriard further affirmed that Petrobras is not contemplating any adjustments to its gasoline prices in the coming days.
